I started this effort with the intention of using SeaCast for a "poured" in transom. I could not find any information anywhere about what the inside of the transom looked like! Did the wooden transom go all the way to the bottom of the hull? Did the urethane foam cover the wood. Well, the only way to find out was to open up the transom shelf and look (I also knew about the wet foam, so I figured, what the heck, might as well fix it right).
This is the start of the transom wood removal process; I admit, I adopted the SeaCast technique of using a chain saw, but that was only useful for the first 10 inches or so, for the most part I used an auger drill and chisel I made up with a chisel welded onto a steel rod.
