Boston Whaler - The Bungee Cord
The purpose of the Bungee Cord is to hold the Fender to the rail when underway or while docking.

For my needs, the length of the Bungee Cord is 5'. Depending upon the height of your rails and your particular docking requirements, the length may vary. I used 3/8" diameter cord. 1/4" would have probably been fine too. When cutting the Bungee Cord, burn each end slightly with a propane torch. Be Careful! Burning the Bungee Cord Ends prevents the ends from unraveling.

Assemble one of the stainless steel Hook Ends to the Bungee Cord. Do this by threading the Bungee Cord through the Hook End and then tying a knot. (Note: there are special clips that hold the Bungee Cord to the Hook Ends, but a knot works fine also.) After the knot is tied, pull the Bungee Cord backward through the Hook End until tightly secured.

After one Bungee Cord Hook End is secured, threat the Bungee Cord through both Fender holes.

Assemble the second Hook End as described above.
