3M's Eraser Wheel made short work of removing the old registration decals and adhesive. The tree which damaged the outboard also bent the rail on the port side and caused minor spider cracking of the gelcoat where the starboard forward stanchion is fastened to the casting platform. As the gelcoat spider beneath the stanchion were minor, they will not be addressed during the restoration. To straighten the rail, it was removed from the boat and moved to the basement. The bend was positioned beneath the home's main beam. A length of 2x4 was then placed atop the bend and beneath the main beam. A hydraulic bottle jack placed between the 2x4 and the main beam to apply downward force to the rail.
