Boston Whaler - Fiberglass cloth reinforcement
There was a wooden "structure" on the hull which, basically, crumbled after drying out. It was clearly a manufacturing artifice; it was obvious that it held the two sides of the boat apart. I'm not sure how much strength the plywood provided, but I added a strip, roughly the same size of 18 oz fiberglass biaxial cloth as well as providing a double layers of 18 oz woven roving in this area.
