I used a vinyl or plastic wiring conduit (from Panduit) to secure and cover the tranducer's lead wire. I removed the adhesive backing strip from the conduit and used 3M's 4200 to attach it to the transom. The position I determined for the SternMate and transducer are working awesome, no sounder signal loss at higher speeds even with a moderate 2 to 3 ft. chop.
