I can take some detailed pictures July 4th, will be bringing boat back up north 4th of July week. I have seen a few of these on Super Sports but they were all a little different.

They came with the boat, I purchased it used in 1991, it was a twin launch off a 150 ft motoryacht so it came with everything from bimini to full custom boat cover. Also has a custom 4 inch thick bow cushion,

Hey Mjfnet,
Great looking boat! any chance you can zoom in on that downrigger setup you have? looking for the best way to install one on mine. Do you think that's sturdy enough for a scotty pot puller?
Thanks!

Where did you get the grab rails to go around your windshields? I think this would be an important feature to add, to keep people from grabbing the plastic and breaking the windshield. Do you have any specs?

Similar Whaler 17 super sport limited pics posted on this site, copy and past the link, he has a similar setup. My whaler is in Florida, bringing it back to Long Island after July 4th.

The cushions came from Specialty Marine, they have a set up specifically for the 17 super sport limited. Yes we have a bilge pump installed in the back underneath the black deck plate. I haven't noticed that it sits much lower than it did with the old 2 stroke Evinrude. We don't leave it in the water so I am not concerned about rain. We have a fuel filter/water separator set up, its mounted to the transom well, you can see it around picture 9.
We still have about 5 hours of break in time remaining on the new motor. hopefully knock that out this weekend Spanish mackerel fishing. Next project is a swim platform.

Awesome restore! Where did you get the interior from?
Have the identical boat, do you have a bilge pump installed?
With the added weight of the Yamaha back sits lower, heavy rain could cover your battery switch. Have a friend at a Yamaha dealer, he told me to install a 2 micron Racor fuel filter/water separator setup, the filter inside the engine cowl is 10 micron, if you use the Racor setup you will never have to change the factory filter plus keep water out of the injectors.

That boat looks sweet! We have a 17 Super Sport Limited that was my wife's childhood boat. Have been slowly working on getting it back right the past two years...just but a Yamaha 4 stroke 90 on it this year. Haven't been able to load pics though.

milehiwhaler - yes, be sure to mount so that you can move up or down in height. Install Teleflex steering. How did you find a short-shaft 50 Yamaha?

Wow! Truly awesome looking Classic 16. Great idea in making the E-TEC look like an antique Bear Cat.

I have a similar 1987 SS Limited 15 with a 2008 Mercury 50 2-stroke. I have always been a Yamaha and Honda 4-stroke fan, but when I felt the hole shot and the lighter weight of the Merc 50 I decided to just keep it. Enough torque to have fun but not enough to get into trouble. I like being able to hand the keys to my adult kids taking out my grand kids. i don't have to worry about too much speed.
So far I have added the factory Boston Whaler bow cushion. Everyone loves that pad. My Whaler also came with the ski pylon sticking up in the middle of the drivers back rest but on the centerline of course. I haven't seen any of the Whalers in Whaler Central with this feature. Sure glad it came with the boat.

Looks a lot like my 1987 Super Sport 15 Limited. All the joys of Boston Whaler but with upholstery and no wood maintenance. By the time I got my mine it was 30 years old and in good shape but no longer had the wind screens.

Custom 3/4" starboard brackets on both boat and trolling motor. (7) Stainless Steel Allen Head Machine Screws hold the brackets together and allow the trolling motor to stay home or go fishing. The actual trolling motor is a MinnKota 12Volt iPilot that I'm very happy with. Holds the boat well enough in wind and current. I run three AGM batteries: one for the main gas engine and two (In parallel) for the house and trolling motor. They rarely get depleted past half way. On the iPilot the remote with anchor feature and retracing a route is really nice and will free up your hands to fish more. Sorry I did not see your post sooner.

Getting ready to mount the exact same Yamaha 2 stroke on my 1963 13 (estate sale find). Any old photos or advice you can push my way regarding the transom mount? Thanks.
