It looks fantastic! The platform in the back is a great idea. Did you add it? I would like to do the same. I'd be interested in some photos of how it's supported.

Actually this is a Sport model with the optional wrap around rail with seat back. Looks like it is in good condition.

A good buffing/waxing, some new decals and you'll be back in business. Good looking boat. I think that configuration with the rails was called a "Sourpuss". Pretty cool!

Hey J-Moe -- Thanks! It's been a few years since I rehab'd this boat. I since sold it but am again buying another 13' in about the same/worse condition. So, I hope to document that restoration as well. We'll see what has to be done.
I'm going over to my buddy's tomorrow to check it out. He salvaged it where it was sitting in the water for a couple years. He managed to get all the barnacles off the hull, but I have a feeling it's going to take more sanding and a re-paint to really bring it back. Should be fun!

Wonderful job! Thanks for posting, as I just bought this same boat and will need to do a few of these same projects.

Was the console you purchased the Niente or the Modified Niente. I am currently modifying my 1988 SSL into a center console boat and really like the looks of the Panga center consoles over the rest of the aftermarket ones that I have found.

Hello Rmurfey,
Sorry but I don't have other pictures of the bed modification, and I'm not with the boat at the moment.
There isn't any space between the seat and the front bed.
I think that you can find some pictures on the web.

Hi Mouries, do you have more pictures of the front cushion and bed modification. I am interested in doing that as well and curious what you did. Is there space between the cooler seat and the front bed? It is hard to tell in the pics.

Nice boat. I just purchased same year and model. What size anchor do you have for yours?

Hi Joe, I am new to the member group. I have picked up a 1966 13 sport hull that I am going to attempt to refurb and the site has tons of info on what steps to take. However, I am also close to buying a 1974 Boston Whaler 19 HIN# 000563 which is in decent shape to run the family around on Georgian Bay in Ontario Canada. You seem to be a go to on this type of history. What can you tell me about the 19'??

Hi, my name is Pedro Cotovio, from Portugal and I am trying to find out the year from her!
Is you Whaler from 1958 or 1959?
And the stencil is where about?
Thank you very much,

Hope you can restore the wood. If not, I have seen ads where they will sell you a new wood console. Let's see some final photos!

Hi Steve - I'm trying to decide if I want to flush mount my vhf in the console or purchase a remote mounted unit with the controls in the mic.
Where is your antennae mounted?

Do you have a photo of the rear light PVC compression fitting - how you modified it to work on the SS threads, great idea, I do not have the SS nut and your idea seems to have great promise.
My Montauk looks the same as yours, but older 1986, same 90hp
