The instructions are very simple to follow and straight forward. No drilling require, the SternMate assembly attaches with a proprietary epoxy to the transom and the mount can be removed in the event you sell or damage the set-up. Captain Chris is very pleasurable to talk to and helpul. I had an issue with my install and he personally took care of my concern. I did some research and it indicated that on single engine set-ups mounting the transducer port side of the lower unit roughly 12 to 15 in. from drive center-line will yield better operation of transducer due to less effects from prop wash or cavitation of a right hand rotating prop.
