Boston Whaler - Setting Fixture
With all holes re-drilled it was time to install the inserts. For bonding I used a Loc-Tite brand 2 part epoxy named Hysol. Very strong and flexible Aluminum substrate blend which was ideal for my application. I needed to keep the inserts in proper position and expanded during the curing process, for this I had machined additional fixtures. These were machined from Aluminum flat stock 12 in. x 1 in. x .250 in.. and with the appropriate 6 hole spacing for # 10 fasteners.
