My brother and I are fixing up a Harpoon 5.2 The CB is stuck inside the trunk. The boat has been sitting a number of years. I have read the downhaul cable is the likely culprit that gets stuck on the top of the CB? The uphaul and downhaul are actually the same cable? Any drawings, diagrams etc that can help get the CB to operate correctly? View Custom Page Comment

It's well maintained and was recently serviced and a new coat of bottom paint put on. It has a bimini and a custom cushioned flooring installed. Any help would be appreciated. Howdy,
I am looking to purchase a Fresh Water Only, 1989 Revenge 22 WT from the Great Lakes region of the USA. I saw one that I would buy in North Port, Michigan, summer of 2021. It was beautiful. I need help finding the owner to make a offer. It was on a Easy Loader trailer and the hull numbers were MC7222 SJ. Please help me find this boat. I am ready to purchase... Thanks! I think I have taken on a lot of rain water while on the tralier and the transom plug was in. Taking the plug out there must have been 50 gallons of water coming out. It was just covering the top of the fuel tank. Not thinking there was any problem I took the boat out and it felt very heavy in the aft. Once on plane the steering was very scary when making a turn, felt like boat was on marbles. What do I need to do to fix it. View Custom Page Comment

Njsever, the Dauntless DC was not made in 1993 or 1994 and that is why it is not listed here. Did not exist.
The 17' Dauntless DC was made for 3 years, 1995-1997 as mentioned on the top of this article. So, I am not sure where you got your misinformation.

For those of you interested. A True Sakonnet 16 should have a forward platform. All Sakonnet 16's came as "standard equipment" with a forward platform according to all the Boston Whaler price lists I have seen. All Boston Whaler catalogs also show the forward platform in all the photos of a Sakonnet model. Therefore, if you don't have a forward platform, it may not be a Sakonnet 16 model unless the platform has been taken out by you, a prior owner, or the dealer etc.
So, some of the above members may have to look further into what model they actually have.
Just because it may have an RPS does not automatically make it a Sakonnet 16 model as the RPS was optional on other models as well.
See this official Boston Whaler document to see what is included to a Bare hull to make a Sakonnet 16 model. Pay particular attention to the "Bow Platform".

It seems as though we may be on the same "plane" in life. i spent a few years in the navy and now i'm working for the dept of the navy as a structural mechanic on the fine P3 aircraft while still serving in the reserves. when i first joined the site and i would have never pegged you as a structures guy. the next time you're in Florida, especially north florida, please drop me a line. i'm sure we could have some interesting conversations. It's an intersting thing, how much you can apply to our whaler's from the aircraft structures field. i hope all is well for you and yours. and happy whaling ~ Jack View Custom Page Comment

Hi Joe,
I am a new member who just bought his first Whaler; a 1971 Nauset. I will post pictures later. I can't believe the cars you have owned. I had a 1954 356(not an A, just 356). I also had a 1967 912 and also a 1973 914 that I autocrossed. I also worked on VW's with a friend doing engine rebuilds. I was around small planes alot, but never got one myself. I still regret that; would love to have a seaplane ;>)
I am a harbormaster at Caliente Isle in the Delta. Besides the Whaler, I have a 1966 Dorsett El Rey, a 1970 36 foot Trojan Tri-cabin and a 29 foot Gulf Pilothouse sloop. I get some pictures of the Nauset and post them on the site.
Thank you for all your work and helping us new Whaler guys out.

Great write up, and interesting to hear the whole story on your brother. I can't believe KDPS has been so obtuse through this, although having lived there and being a graduate of that school, it doesn't come as a complete surprise. Glad to hear he's doing better. A good friend and college roommate was on dialysis and I know full well the trials and challenges posed by that therapy. He was one of my heroes for many of the same reasons as you have for your brother.
Best wishes to you all. Looking forward to boating together as soon as this last blast of winter blows through.....
