Boston Whaler - Looking into transom shelf
Can see manufacturing supports which absorbed a lot of water. There were two supports, symmetrical around the keel which extended from the hull to the shelf. On the hull side, there was wood that extended from about 6 inches from the stern to about 16 inches (that would make it 10 inches) from the stern and went half-way up the v-hull. I guess for additional keel support.
