Boston Whaler - Console Dash Replacement
Following the removal of the old dash I cut out a piece of plywood (25" x 13") to match the old opening. I rounded over the back side edges of the new plywood board to make glassing easier once it is laminated to the dash. I wet out the side of the wood that was going against the dash, covered it with a piece of 6oz cloth, and wet out the cloth. Then I made up some more west systems adding 406 silica to mayo consistency. I brushed this onto the dash and used a comb to trowel lines like you would with tile. Then I placed the board down to the dash and wiggled it into place to set the epoxy. I added 2 five gallon buckets of rocks to press it down and let it set up. Notice I also placed some 4x6 boards under the console to get the dash flat on a surface underneath.
