Heavy duty jumper cable wire was chosen as cost effective cable to supply power to the trolling motor. Battery lugs were attached to one end of the jumper cable and battery quick connects (the same as are commonly used with winches, plows, etc.) to the other end of the battery cable as well as to the electric trolling motor's power leads. The battery cable was then routed between the hull and the mahogany side boards of the SS 15. These quick connects permit the trolling motor to be quickly and securely coupled and decoupled from the power source. This modular approach permits all unnecessary fishing related items to be quickly and easily removed from the boat to reduce weight and free up space to permit the boat to serve other functions such as water skiing, tubing, diving, cruising, etc.
