This is a photo showing how each leg is attached to either the bench seat or leg extension section. These strap hinges were purchased from Marine Parts Depot. Check out their web site. The hinges and screws are stainless steel. Note that the vertical 1"x4" is aligned adjacent and touching the support 1"x4"s. This alignment provides "backing resistance" and serves to hold the leg in its vertical position.
