This is the port side looking down at the 2nd (from stern) vertical side rail. I utilized a 1" diameter eye strap connector and two bolts with oval heads and finish washers on the side adjacent to the seat. As the rails are 7/8" in diameter, I lined the strap connector with a 1" wide piece of rubber, about 1/8" in thickness. To hold the rubber in place, I used electrical tape. This rubber/tape protects the side rail from getting scratched. See next photo for this detail.
