Boston Whaler - Deck Clean up
We removed the gas tank and will be replacing it with a new one. The inside of the tank cavity was a grimy mess, but I don't have any pictures now to post. Will try to get some on later. All that was cleaned up with rags and solvent. Was hoping to use the old gas tank but it looked in pretty rough shape (fittings were broken and needed to be replace and the tank is 30+ years old). There was also a pretty good sized ice block in the tank after we siphoned the old gas out. Removing the tank was a bear and was also pretty heavy. Also filled in a few soft spots in the floor by drilling about a 1/2" hole, then filling with a type of structural foam; then patched the pour hole. Will also be purchasing a few deckplates for the boat at a later time.
