The engine on this boat is a 1988 Mercury 2.0 liter 150HP.
The engine has 2:1 gearing also, which uses a 19" pitch prop. I am running a Mercury Laser II in 19" pitch.
For a 2.4 liter 200, with 1.87:1 gear ratio, I would suggest starting with a 21" Laser II. You may need a 23". That boat is going to be vary fast, at least 55 mph.
I love that the image was taken in the summer of 2009 but, one could assume it was taken in the mid - late 1980's from the Cadillac and Mercury. The true definition of "TIME PIECE" Very nice Larry.
Thank you, Jeff
In answer to #3, as many here know, the boat was found 16 months ago, stored indoors and unused for over 25 years by the original owner. It only had about 100 hours of total use since purchased new. A once in a lifetime find. It is not restored, is all original, simply cleaned up, re-rigged with modern equipment and detailing, and all teak sanded and varnished. The trailer is brand new.
