What's that little torpedo launcher hanging off the port rail?

It is a length of 4 inch PVC closed at one end and a screw cap on the other. It is used to stow a beach umbrella that fits through a hole in a table (we made) that clips onto the back of the pilot seat. A bungie cord keeps the umbrella in place when it is open. The umbrella is 6 feet wide so we get lots of shade.
