For those of you interested. A True Sakonnet 16 should have a forward platform. All Sakonnet 16's came as "standard equipment" with a forward platform according to all the Boston Whaler price lists I have seen. All Boston Whaler catalogs also show the forward platform in all the photos of a Sakonnet model. Therefore, if you don't have a forward platform, it may not be a Sakonnet 16 model unless the platform has been taken out by you, a prior owner, or the dealer etc.
So, some of the above members may have to look further into what model they actually have.
Just because it may have an RPS does not automatically make it a Sakonnet 16 model as the RPS was optional on other models as well.
