Boston Whaler - Reinforcing shelf to transom
The two halves of the boat connect at the this joint between the transom shelf and the transom itself. There was obviously some flexing going on as there were gelcoat spider cracks in this area. I took this opportunity (since I had the cavity open) to reinforce that connection with one layer of 18 oz biaxial cloth and an additional layer of 10 oz fiberglass tape. I used epoxy, (see previous picture!)
