As many Montauk owners like to fish, I thought I'd incorporate the use of an adjustable ss fishing rod holder on each side as a "rest" for the seat back. The beauty of this approach is that adjustment of the position of the clamp and the angle of the seat can be customized to suit your desires.

Once positioned, I used a 7" strip of female velcro and attached it to the front side of the ss fishing rod holder. This protects against scratches from screws protruding from the seat back support 1x4s.

It is hard to notice in the photo, but....... to secure the seat back to the fishing rod holder I utilized two way velcro and looped it around the seat back support 1x4 and the fishing rod holder. Thus, it's easy to take off when the seat/platform requires adjustment or removal.
