Boston Whaler - The Process
After trimming the internal (male) section to it's proper length (the scupper is a 2 part assembly male and female) I then applied a liberal amount of 3M's 5200 sealant to the back side of the flange for the external half (the actual scupper section). With light pressure I pushed it into it's location in the transom making sure that the rubber flap was oriented correctly. I now apply 5200 to the (male) internal half and carefully push it into the female counter part being careful not to knock the external part out. Using my handy press, I reassemble it through the scupper, assemble the wood block on the outside and start to tighten the scupper halves onto themselves. It worked great, when finished I dissassemble the hand press remove it and concentrate on cleaning the excess sealant around the scupper body.
