I have a 1986 Outrage 18' and have just aquired and moutnted the outrigger mount on the shedards hook on the center console. I am now on the search for a pair of the Lee's outrigger poles and elbows (1 1/8 diameter). I'll settle for just the elbows if anyone has a set they want to part with. Any leads would be appreciated.

I might have an extra set of elbows and poles at my summer home. I'll check this weekend and get back to you. They were on a Sakonnet I had for a short time, and when I got my Montauk, it already had outriggers. I'm just not sure they are the same as the ones that go in the Shepherds Crook mount. But I can compare the two and see if they are the same.

Do you already have the inserts that go in to the mount and hold the elbows?

I have the mount with the Lee's flush mount holders. Same as pictured here:

What I need are the elbows, out. Elbows and poles if possible. The elbows by themselves would allow me to find aftermarket poles and utilize the holders.

Paul, have you had a chance to look at your spare set of outrigger poles and elbows for the console mounted Lee's mounts?

OK, Salmonboy, I battled the spiders and dug them out of storage. Here's the good news: I have a set of the correct elbows and poles, which appear to be functional and include all hardware. The bad news is, they aren't pretty. I think the poles will clean up nicely, and the elbows for the most part would clean up with chrome polish, but it looks like someone used a couple sets of pliers at some point to separate the poles from the elbows, so the chrome on the elbows, and the finish on the poles, got messed up from that. Those areas could be covered with some red tape (which was original at all the junctions, I think- or at least both of my sets have that) and would look OK, or you could re-chrome the elbows, and refinish the poles, if you want pristine. Here's a lesson for those of you who have out-riggers: use a little vaseline when you assemble them, and take them completely apart every time you are done using them.

The poles are 4 pieces each. 52" long and the elbows would fit in a box of about 18" by 8" by 2" I think. The poles might be expensive to ship because of their length. If you want to figure out the best way and the cost to ship them, and it's worth it to you, let me know and PM me your name and address. I'll get them over to a pack and ship and get them out to you. I'd ask that you just reimburse me the pack and ship costs. Once you get them, decide what they are worth to you, and just pay that forward some time.

Oops, there might be a problem. I just measured the elbows, and they are 1 and 1/4" diameter. They do fit into my original-for-BW Lee's mount, that mounts on the shepherd's crook, and the poles fit inside the other end of them, so the poles themselves are probably 1 and 1/8". I think the BW lee's mounts were all the same, but just want to be sure I am offering you something you can use.

SB- I did not receive an email, so you might recheck my email address. Note that it is a .net domain, not .com.

Thanks, Joe!
