I plan to mount a swim platform/ladder on my 17 Montauk before summer. I 've seen the inteior wood diagam and I'm still confussed about mounting it to the transom. My plan was to mount it on the Port side rear. I would have two mount holes in the middle, One o the top which could be all the way through, and one on the bottom side. What problems can I avoid?

You can avoid drilling 4 holes in the hull and consider a telescoping over transom mount.

I had a teak swim platform on my Montauk. The prior owner did a terrible install.

Make sure you seal the heads of the bolts and lag screws.

I mounted a swim platform on mine. Turned out good. A little pricey. But i bought it off ebay

I didn't buy the wood from him because i already had a teak board to use. He gave me a price for the stainless brackets separately however i don't remember how much it cost. Works great just make sure you have your holes marked before you drill.

I thought about a platform ladder and not wanting to drill holes in my hull I went with a transom ladder by Windline. A little pricey but works well and stows well.
