Hi Joe,
I am a new member who just bought his first Whaler; a 1971 Nauset. I will post pictures later. I can't believe the cars you have owned. I had a 1954 356(not an A, just 356). I also had a 1967 912 and also a 1973 914 that I autocrossed. I also worked on VW's with a friend doing engine rebuilds. I was around small planes alot, but never got one myself. I still regret that; would love to have a seaplane ;>

I am a harbormaster at Caliente Isle in the Delta. Besides the Whaler, I have a 1966 Dorsett El Rey, a 1970 36 foot Trojan Tri-cabin and a 29 foot Gulf Pilothouse sloop. I get some pictures of the Nauset and post them on the site.
Thank you for all your work and helping us new Whaler guys out.

Joe, Seal Beach brings back memories. We use to cruise into the harbor with all lights out at night , no identification on the ship and surrounded by Marines , take a load of missiles and be out of there before daybreak. Interesting times. ghost rider

Joe, thanks you very much for a wonderful site. It seems as though we may be on the same "plane" in life. i spent a few years in the navy and now i'm working for the dept of the navy as a structural mechanic on the fine P3 aircraft while still serving in the reserves. when i first joined the site and i would have never pegged you as a structures guy. the next time you're in Florida, especially north florida, please drop me a line. i'm sure we could have some interesting conversations. It's an intersting thing, how much you can apply to our whaler's from the aircraft structures field. i hope all is well for you and yours. and happy whaling ~ Jack

Joe- Have been enjoying your website for several years now, just found your info. My life is much enhanced with my 1963 Sakonnet and my 1987 Montauk. I also enjoy flying my 1968 Cessna 182 and driving my 1984 911 which is my daily driver with 248,000 miles. These I can do without, but now at 73 I just keep on enjoying them. Keep up the good work.

Looking at the owner's list of pictures for Sport model Whalers, I am starting to think that my 1969 unmodified boat might be a bit of a standout. Not painted and original wood / parts.
