I thought some people might be interested in where it all began and where I'm coming from.
I will be filling in more of the blanks as time goes on.
I certainly don't want to bore anyone with details.... Smile

Joe great stuff. Your 59 Porsche is AWESOME!
Had no idea your were and Aircraft guy as well. My father when to the Northrop Institute back in the Late 60's - Early 70's and worked at LAX and I believe the Long Beach airport as well.

Hi Joe, You're doing excellent work with this site, and it's highly valuable to all Whaler owners. But, where are the 31' owners? I have a 1991 31-L, and would like to correspond with other 31-ers. Any leads?

Joe,
I drive a 1959 356 Convertible D, 1955 356 coupe, 13' Anniversary model whaler, 1971 13' Sourpuss, a 13' desert tan GLS, too. The last two whalers are like new. I use the Anniversary model every summer, all summer since 1999.

I lived in Seal Beach from 93 to 95. Would not trade that experience for anything in the world.
Was Clancey's and the Irisher on the beach then?
#9 | Joe Kriz on August 23, 2007 - 9:31 AM
blake,
Clancey's and the Irisher have been on Main St. forever. Walt's Warf has been there forever too along with Harbour Surfboards and many others. I lived there from 1965 to 1980 when it was a sleepy little town before Huntington Harbor, McDonalds, etc., were there... I'd still live there if it weren't for all the surrounding congestion...
