Hi guys,
I'm looking at a boat with a '98 Honda 90 four stroke fitted. It has 660 hours on it and has been serviced every year - I have no outboard engine experince and was wondering whether you feel this engine 'should' be OK ats these hours?
At 55 hours of use per year, that doesn't sound to bad at all. There's a lot more to consider than just hours when looking at a motor. I'd have another mechanic take at it before you pull the trigger and buy this thing. Was it used in a mostly salt environment?

Good point on the compression check. I'll see if I can get one done. The boat is currently on a an estuary so I'm working on the basis that it's always been on the sea.
