does anybody know what 90AETO model # means in terms of the age of the motor. I cannot so far get the exact age of the motor . Also on a different note, I found a company that will send to you capacity data plates for a nominal fee. The 72 16.7 footer i bought does not have one on it, and the coast guard , at least in my area , wants to see that placard . The company is majic brush, in floridia 386-736-1142

I do not believe you can tell the date of manfacture based on a model number.
A serial number would be better.

AD, you can go to www.boats.net and do a little research on your motor. You may have to search through a few different years to find your motor. I found that site to be one of the best sites around for researching your motor and parts.

You have a 1984 model, the very first they were imported into the US under the Yamaha label.

The company is Janis Teagarden's Magic Brush, the only Whaler authorized decal producer:

right you are, a 1984 model where the U.S. equivalent would be a 90ETLN model ,this info is from Yamaha rep I talked to on the phone
