Jeff,
I agree, that is some radical flying. Definately worth watching.
Not much room for error at that elevation.

"There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots. There are no old.bold pilots".
This guy is really scary. Good. Really good. But really scary. You can only mow grass so long with one of those, before you find a stump.

Did you notice at the end that the pilot was solo? At least he didn't want to risk anyone elses health, Helicopters are a lot of fun, I've flown a lot in the Detroit Police Helicopters, an Academy class mate of mine was an instructor in the Army prior to joining DPD, the day we got out of the academy he was transferred to DPD's aviation unit where he stayed for 27 years. I had an open invite to fly with him any time I wanted.....we did a bonzai run down the Detroit River one time about 3' off the water, it was exilerating to say the least.......Great video

I have a 13 with a 40 hp 2-stroke Evinrude that runs well, but I'm being legislated off some lakes in the area. I use it as a photo boat for shooting sailboat races and other assignments.
Questions - Would it matter that much to use a long shaft outboard on a transom designed for a short shaft? Is five inches that big a deal?
Also, when I see my boat at speed on a plane the thrust line of the engine seems to be tilted up, that is, it looks as if I need to put the engine tilt pin a notch higher than the highest setting. Does this matter? Does anyone ever put a wedge of some kind into the clamps to level the engine thrust line with the hull?
Last, is there another (better) place to ask all this?
