Hi all, just an update on Trolling motor brackets. Last season I had a custom trolling bracket made by Ray at Martin Marine Design. I finally installed it and I am happy with results. Hope to use it this weekend. The installation was a bit tricky as I had little room for error and the angles of the drilling needed to be close to perfect. I wound up making a template and jig to get the angle right. I also needed to re-poistion it 3 or 4 times as it was being mounted very close to the stern light.

The Kicker is a 4.5 HP Johnson, needs paint and a tiller extension pole. This was a $160. ebay rescue...:-) Got it running pretty well, pumps lots of water, shifts nicely, and idles... This little outboard has come long way since I grabbed it last month.

Those are great little engines Jon and the bracket looks awesome. Let us know how the engines works on the back of your boat. I'll see you on greenwood lake this year.

The bracket set up turned out great Jon....

Hopefully we can catch up on the water this year as well

I ran my newly acquired 6hp kicker on the lake week ago and it was so much nicer to put around with than the main engine

True test will be on the Hudson this week by Kingston fishing for stripers at 6am on Thursday

Thanks Guys, I am happy with the way it turned out. Great job by Ray Martin. Ray are you reading this...:-) I do not plan to leave the kicker on all the time, early season and late season. With water sports this may be a pain... Also I can always use my electric to navigate in coves and around docks. Easy to take that on and off.

Look forward to catching up with you guys on the lake. I probably will do Monksville on Sunday since I have the kicker...Then drop it in GW lake.

Very nice bracket Johnnie. Looks good enough to be passed off as a factory mount.

I'll vouch for that. I purchased a swim platform for my Outrage from Raymond a few weeks ago. Very high quality.
