Mine is done that way on my Montauk. I am not familiar with the mounting area on your boat but with a few looks around the site there are some really good ways to do it. I liked keeping the rails as I spend a lot of time up there and like something to grab a hold of. Take a look at my project page for some pics of how I did mine.
Good luck.
My trolling motor works that way. Look at my personal page. I pull the motor out, tilt it vertical and lock it in the full up position while it's still on the trailer. In the water I just pull it straight down or up as required. After it's back on the trailer I lay it horizontal and strap it down. It's a minor inconvenience but well worth it to save the rail.

The previous responses are for a Montauk 17 which is the older style with a different rail. I have have a Montauk 170 which is similiar in design to your 190. I couldn't figure out how to put a trolling motor on the bow so I put a bracket on the stern. It works great for a trolling motor and a kicker.
The mount is a Garelick. It's shown on my personal page near the bottom.
