I was recently working on the carburetors on my 1985 Evinrude 70hp outboard and accidentally broke one of the 5/32" plastic t-fittings. I've been searching for them everywhere, boat stores, auto parts stores, and the only place I can find them is online where I have to buy at least 100 of them. As I only need one, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of where I can find them? Thanks!
5/32" seems an odd size for SAE tubing fittings. 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" are common. Regardless, 5/32" is .15625" which is also 3.9688mm so 4mm fittings should work just fine for your application.
Have a look at www.mcmaster-carr.com for part number: 2429K53 and see what you think. $1.23 each.
Johnny,
Thank you so much for the advice, I'll take a look at the website you recommended. 5'32" is the size of the fuel hose, I was assuming that was the size of the fitting as well, but I'm not sure how those fittings are measured. Hopefully I can find something that fits, spring is here and I'd like to get the boat running and take her out a few times before selling her. Thanks!
McMaster-Carr is an awesome resource I've been using for many years. Don't be afraid to search through the site for something more appropriate if you think what I posted may not be quit right. They've got all sorts of stainless fasteners and other hardware I seem to fill my orders with even when I originally went looking there for a single part.
You can also go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy the plastic fittings that work with a drip irrigation system. I used one on an old motor of mine 3 years ago and it is still intact and working fine
