Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows of the best place to mount a depth transducer (transom mount) to a banana hull (21 ft)?
I currently have it mounted to the starboard sponson but lose readings at any planing speeds other than idle.

Thanks

I have a 1975 Revenge 19, but the hulls are similar (19 & 21). I mounted my transom transducer just to the stbd side (about 2") of the center drain plug on the transom. This is the closest you can get to the lowest and centerline of the boat. I get good soundings up to 20 knots...and sometimes more depending on how rough the water is. At some speed, the air/bubbles passing underneath the hull will get to the transducer. I sealed the screws holding the transducer with 3M5200 and have had no issues over several decades (I am the original owner).

Hi, I remounted mine and still lose readings at any speed over idle.
Can you share a little more detail on how far below the bottom of the hull your transducer sits and what angle is it mounted?
That may be the difference.

Thanks
