I've examined the wood locating diagram in the Downloads section of this site. I'll be installing a wider "Super Sport" console in my 1972 hull. This will require that the support cleat be installed toward the center of the hull where Boston Whaler did not embed any backing wood. My floor needs work anyway so I intend to embed some support. I have some left over mahogany that I could epoxy or...could I use Starboard for this? I know nothing about the stuff other than it won't rot. I have a source for some scraps and I was wondering if this would work? What wood did Whaler originally use inside the hulls?
