We've waited oh so long for today - "Spring was in the air"

I wish you all 70+ degrees but ... what are you doing first day of Spring with your Whaler?

I really need rear brake work, so either it'll end in disaster at the ramp or you'll can find me going figure eights near the Lincoln Memorial -

then working on my brakes.

Happy Spring to you too Mark.

Today in North Texas, we are under a winter weather advisory as the weathermen are expecting 1-2 inches of snow today, tonight and tomorrow. Yesterdays high temperature in Dallas was 73F while today's will be about 37F degrees.

We took our Whaler out last Sunday and had a blast so I guess that was our first trip for the year.

Enjoy your day, be safe and get those brakes fixed!!

Oh yeah, Taking the big Sea Ray that I captain out for a cruise this afternoon, first of the year. Supposed to be 75 here in VA Beach this afternoon. Was on the water for the last 3 days doing boat deliveries and it was perfect. Now to get behind the big helm with the wife and just relax.

Picked up my freshly cleaned and re-waterproofed mooring cover from Mills yesterday. i also had them put a support pole with a snap in the bow so I don't get huge heavy water puddles there anymore.

I want to get new props. I will also decarbon 2 times early on.

Doubt I'll get on the water before May 1st.

Splashed the Conquest today and took her to her new "home"/marina. Left the ramp where the dealer put her in and headed due south. Planned on a really quick trip, but with 72 degree day, not a cloud in the sky and the Bay completely flat (I mean flat), ended up taken her almost all the way around the island. Absolutely gorgeous. If I had more time, I would have attempted some fishing. What was strange was I only saw a handful of boats on such a great day. Felt like I had the whole Bay to myself.

I went to the board walk at "Long Beach" with the family, we were in our shirt sleeves only because, the Sun was strong enough to over come the slight wind off the ocean. I saw a small center console outside of the breakers about 17' long heading eastbound. Mrs. MW said "Hey that sound's like a Whaler", I retorted "You can't tell by that" and laughed... I then put the mini monocular to my eye and spied the red harpoon on the side, and the Merc on the back I HATE WHEN THEY'RE RIGHT ! LOL

Going to DMV this week for the inspection. Might move my batteries inside my console. Then we should be ready for some flounder, blacks, blues & stripers! yum
