Stablizers for Evinrude 40HP

They may help a little in the porpoising department however they will knock a mph or two off your top end because of the drag. Maybe take a look at moving some of your weight in your boat forward. Member Personal Page Posts: 2012 Comments: 0 Joined: 12/19/05	(they will knock a mph or two off your top end because of the drag) If your engine is set up correctly you cavitation plate should run on the surface or just above the surface. the stabilizer is mounted on top of the cavitation plate and it rides clear of the water. Mine is set up that way, and I have no loss of speed. The boat will plane as a lower speed, and will get up on plane much faster. Rich
