'92 Rage 15 with 50 hp yamaha jet drive engine i want more power

Member Posts: 2 Comments: 0 Joined: 02/04/10	I have a 1992 Rage 15. I have only had it for a few months and I love it. But, I want to be able to take people out tubing and skiing and it is not producing enough power. The engine that is in it now runs great, but the 50 hp just isn't cutting it. It is a jet drive and I can't seem to find many alternatives. I know there is a 115 OMC engine out there, but i hear that there are quite a few problems with it. If anyone knows of any options that are out there and where i can find them that would be great. thanks

Member Personal Page Posts: 9 Comments: 0 Joined: 01/31/10	I have a 14 ft Seaswirl Squirt which has the same 115hp turbo jet engine that they use in the Rage. Mine is for sale. I can't get over 35mph out of it and it sucks gas like crazy. I just bought a 13ft Whaler sport with a 40hp outboard and it outperforms the jet hands down using a quarter of the fuel. I have given up on the jet. Neat idea, but it doesn't work. Your Yamaha may work better than the 115, so I wouldn't recommend that as an option. But if you want to buy my boat......
