Hello All,

My wife and I are the proud new owners of a pristine 1991 30th Anniversary Montauk. This is our first Whaler and are looking for recommendations for place to launch for a nice SUnday cruise. We live in the Los angeles area would like some feed back on places people launch that are relatively hassle free. Any and all input is much appreciated! Ill try and post a pic if I can. Thank you for all the great info on this site.

Congradulations, on such a nice boat. Try Newport, you can put in at the back bay and stay inside the bay for a few hours and have a blast, stop and have a bite to eat and continue your cruise. In Long Beach, you can cruise around Naples and hit the oils rigs and still be inside the breakwater, cruise up tp Sea Port Village eat and continue on. You can even cruise around Terminal Island while going out of Long Beach. Best thing to do is go to Google Earth and check out the marinas and boat ramps in So. Cal.
