Seen a bunch of talk about water sitting on the fuel tank and no place for it to go. Bad design has always been the answer. Well with all this rain i've been doing some rewireing and thought i'd try to tackel this delema. Well it didn't take me long till i found there is a 1/2" pvc tube that goes from area in question to the fish well on the port side, but when the factory installed the foam around the tank, they covered up the tubing. I plan on changing it to 1", and adding another to the starboard side as well. Thought of installing a small pump, but don't want to do it at this time. Too much foam to dig out, unless it keeps raining. There is about 1 1/2" all the way around the tank, so if i move it up to one side there is plenty of room for a pump. Hope this sheads some light on 16sl owners. If any of you others read this, do you have foam around your tank too?
All the classic models with underground tanks have foam keeping it in place.
While there are drains, similar to the 16SL, the cavity is often slightly deeper than the drain level. One of the few design shortcomings with these hulls.
