I bought an SS interior from a donor boat. I finished sanding & varnishing. The seats came out dark after varnish. The console & side rails are much lighter. Did I do somthing wrong ? Is this normal ? The interior wood pieces all came from the same boat. Thanks !!

If you didn't add any stain, then it probably is just different grain and actual shade and color of the wood itself..............look at my personal page and you'll see the some of mine are different

Sometimes a difference in color tones and wood grains look good when used together.

I work at a wholesale lumber yard and this question comes up all the time, usually it is just the nature of the wood. A lot of the Redwood that I sell is white/yellowish wood because it is the sapwood of the tree. It is still redwood species, just not "red". If you did not stain, then the color variation is just the nature of the wood.
A lot of species will actually darker over time, like redwood, it will become a darker brown the longer it ages after being milled.

I agree with the post above in that the natural shading can vary. One other thing for consideration is did you apply the same amount of coats to each piece. Some varnish has a tint that will be more pronounced the as you add coats to the wood. That being said you might try to add another couple of coats to the lighter wood if you want to try to darken it a bit. Might not work but a little extra varnish can't hurt.

Yep;
Things would be boring if everything was always "perfect"
Give it four more coats of a darker colored varnish.
Only you will know of the difference.
