My lab and I took the Montauk out this afternoon to test out the new Lowrance HDS-5. The Lowrance worked great. I, however, encountered another problem in itself. I decided to fish for a little while. I went to the stern to get my tackle box and slipped. I'm talking about my feet coming out right from under me. Apparently, the fuel line had split whnere it exits the floor and goes to the tank. It had been spraying fuel all over the fiberglass. I never noticed any hesitation or anything funny with the motor. The dog tracked it all over the back of the boat. Any thoughts on what to clean this mess up with? I have magnified dirty foot prints of the dog and me all over the place. Soap and water? Thanks.
Thanks for the insight. I'm going out into the cold right now to knock this out. I have my bucket and Dawn. I may freeze my butt off but at least I won't have dish pan hands.
