Good morning all, Just a quick introduction to say hi. I live in Va Beach Va and work for a dealer as a boat demonstrator and Whaler is/was one of our lines. I'm also the rig dept mgr so if I can help with any questions, feel free to ask. I've also delivered over 100 Whalers of sizes 13' sport to 320 Outrage and all in between. But the real reason I'm here, much to the dismay of the Admiral (wife of 22 yrs), I just got my hands on a 1984 15' Sport referred to as the Mini Montauk since it has the center console option and the raised bow rail. The hull is sound, the stainless and wood in good shape, the Johnson 70 on the other hand needs work. But hey, thats what projects are all about. Look forward to the board.

Thanks,
Duane

With your experience, the project should be a breeze.

Good to have you. I owned a 15 for a few years. It had a 70 Yamaha on it. I think it was more fun to operate than any boat I ever owned. It felt like a sports car on the water tight in the turns and sitting so close to the water 40mph felt like 60.
