Any advice on a floor mat? I'm looking to soften my ride in rough water. Was considering a heavy duty industrial floor mat (with approx 1" holes) cut to fit between console and leaning post. Drawback is doesn't seem it would be comfortable in the summer without footwear. Has anyone done something similar?

Not sure if installing a mat will create the illusion of a softer ride. What model do you have? My Montauk was a great boat, but when it got rough, it rode hard. The same rough water that caused me to experience a hard ride in my montauk has little effect on my outrage.

.. yeah, these mats are used by the military. It's made a positive difference in how my back feels at the end of the day. Sometimes they have cosmetic seconds on sale for $99 -- that's what I got. The blue might be a little less intense, but I don't mind.
