have had to run down to marina twice in the past two days to run bilge pump to drain whaler from loads of rainwater. Finally, last night I just left the plug out. But I dont like doing this. Its better than a foot of water in the boat, but not ideal.
Doesnt anyone make a one-way valve to replace the standard plug with? You know...something that lets accumulating water inside the hull drain out, but keeps sea water on the outside of the hull?
Thanks. That idea would work, IF it had a screen on the inside to keep stuff from clogging the check ball. But I guess even clogged up with debris ( sand, pieces of conch shell etc.) it would be no worse than leaving the plug out.
