The tires on my trailer are waring on the outermost edges only. It is a single axle Aluminum trailer with my 17 Montauk . Any ideas? Nothing looks bent or twisted.

Check the tire pressure. If the tires are inder-inflated, they will wear on the outsides.

The pressure was a little low . I always thought low pressure caused both outside edges to wear and high pressure the middle of the tire this is only happening on one edge of each tire .Both are consistent. thanx for your advice

How old are the tires?

Radial or Bias?

If they are old Bias ply, this can happen all of a sudden. Time to replace with radials if you use the trailer often.

Well maybe your toe is off somehow. Easy way to check it is to take a tape measure and place it in the middle of the front of the tire and then stretch the tape measure to the exact same spot on the other tire and record the measurement. Then do the exact same thin at the rear of the tire and compare measurements. If they are different then you have a bent axle. Of course you can do the same thing withthe camber too if you jack the trailer up off the ground.

The axle could be off a very small amount and cause the tires to wear incorrectly. You would need to measure the axle placement on the trailer, make sure both sides are the same length from the back of the trailer. Make sure the trailer is square. You could measure from tire to tire, first the front of one tire to the front of the other tire. Then measure from the back of one tire to the back of the other tire. If your tires are wearing funny, one of these measurements should be off.
