Can anyone recommend any good “Whaler” books? Something like history of the boats/company, good pictorials, etc…
Thanx, Bill

Bill:
The only book I have ever found dealing with Boston Whaler is "Only in America" about a current whalercentral member's adventure on his Montauk. I have searched and searched, as I enjoy reading, and have never been able to find anything. You would think their would be something out there.
If you have not heard of the book, "Only in America," you can check it out at onlyinamerica.biz
The author is a real nice guy. He signed my copy to my son--really cool.
If you happen to find anything else, let me know. I'll do the same.
Merry Christmas.
Nick

Thanx Nick, yes I have heard of Only In America...I think I will pick that one up...was it a good read?
Good pics?
I am surprised I have not found any other Whaler books considering they are such a significant bit of Americana?
Our other hobby is our AirStream camper (another great piece of Americana), and there is no shortage of publications related to AirStreams.
Also, we (literaly) live around the corner from the Herresshoff Marine Musueum (The former Heresshoff Mfg facility) and the America's Cup Hall of Fame so we are surrounded my maritime history...I am somewhat puzzled I have not found much literature on Whaler.
We are very fortunate to have this great website!

Only in America is a fantastic read! Their are some pictures. I finished the book in two nights. I just couldn't put it down. Do a search on the site, I think it was started by CES, on the book. You will see it was purchased by many wc members who loved it.
I know what you are saying about books on Whaler. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that their doesn't seem to be a good coffee table book about Boston Whaler.
With all of his knowledge on the subject, maybe Joe Kriz will write one. What do you say Joe, you up for writing a Boston Whaler book? All of the site members could contribute pics.

I wholeheartedly second Only In America! The only bad part about it is how sad you get when you reach the last page

No kidding. Talk about depression setting in after finishing the book. It was like coming home from a great vacation. Now imagine how the author felt...

Hey guys, I thought I was the only one that felt that way when I was done with the book!! Haha. It's seriously a great read and makes the reader literally feel as if he's on the Montauk with the three Johns.
Other than OIA, I haven't found any books written about the history of Boston Whalers.
