I just bought a mercury kicker motor that matches my original 1984 Merc 150. The Marine company that services your motor should have the "tie bar" on the shelf, mine did and I plan on purchasing it when I pick up my new 1984 4.5 HP Merc kicker from the Merc repair shop. It was a universal unit, I did not catch the brand of it though. The "tie bar" was $40. and it does work with the tilt and trim.
