I wouldn't put a thu-hull transducer on a Classic Outrage.
What year is your 22 ?
I would put a transom mounted transducer on.
However, lets see what everyone else has to say here.
Nowadays, it seems that transducers designed specifically for transom mount work a lot better than the transducers that were adapted from a through hull application to a transom mount with some sort of bracket. The transducer can be installed so that the face of the transducer is just below the plane surface of the hull.
Mine is designed to flip up if a stick or some other floaty hits the transducer. If the old style, adapted from through hull applications was hit, the bracket would bend, or worse, be torn off the transom.
