Hi guys,

I have a small drip of dark oil (possible lower unit oil) that shows up on the side of my engine everyonce in awhile.

Im dying to knwo what it is and if theres anything i can do.

if go to my personal page and check out my last picture, and you can see it.
It also gets oil-moist on the engine right where the supports come in from the boat.

Looks to me that you may have a small leak or venting from the VRO oil pump. I'd take a look at your oil lines and inspect them for rotting/cracking. Also I'd tighten the hose clamps too.

2 stroke oil leaking from the seal on the bottom of the block.

Not really a big deal for that vintage of motor unless the VRO is leaking as suggested before.

Second that, and you could remove the lower cowl to get a better look at the gasket where the powerhead mates with the lower leg to verify exactly where it's coming from....
