Hi Whaler friends,

I got a new problem with my Whaler ( Engine ) ... My engine gets out of the hole fine an top ends out and feels like it starts to spin in weeds. Its a smiliar feeling like a clutch problem in a car going up a hill. It still goes fast but rpms goes faster an has a decreased speed slightly. Anyone know what I need to troubleshoot? I checked the lower gear casing an lubricant is full an no water in oil.

Help!

Have your prop checked or put on another prop for testing.
You may have a spun hub inside your prop.

Are you looking at the tachometer and the GPS to verify the results you report?

Are you on a river that is subject to under currents?

I was not looking at a gps or tac. I was going on feel and noise...

I was on a river. I was traveling downstream. It was not a tough current an I had been on that river before. Good call tho. hmmmmmmmm

I am not sure it is a diy project unless you had the proper press. Try a new prop for testing if you have one. You may be able to tell its spun after you take it off by looking inside. Also see if you can spen the prop when the engine is in gear before you remove it.
