It is re-powered now, having given up the classic "towers" to the Ribside. The three videos were taken on "break-in day", so engine speeds vary and no WOT running.
But these new 90's appear to run quite well, better than I expected, and remarkably quiet, with very little smoke in spite of the 25:1 break-in mix being run. Fuel mileage is looking better than 3 MPG at cruise.

In this video, I had them up close to 5000 RPM for a few seconds, running an old set of Mercury SS elephant ear props in 24" pitch from my 115's, similar to today's Vengeance. We were seeing 48 MPH at 4900 RPM, with brackets all the way down. I am guessing that when I get the engines lifted up to eliminate all the spray, and a set of Laser 24" or 26" props installed (still trying to determine which I need), it will run between 52-55 MPH.

There are three videos, the other running at more like 2800-4000 RPM and 25-38 MPH.

The setting is Lake Michigan, at the IL-WI border.

Wow, you've got a rocket ship! What kind of trailer do you have? Any photos of forward wood deck -- looks interesting.

Larry -

Always a pleasure to see such fine work. Motors look and sound fantastic. Enjoy the dialing in task. Sounds like lots of testing is required. (wink)

Dan Larry ONLY uses one brand of trailer. Continental... He is kind of that way with a lot.

Only brand of car he drives: Cadillac
Only brand of outboard he uses: Mercury
The only wax he uses: Collonite Fleetwax
The only brand of trailer tire: Goodyear Marathon
The only brand of keel roller: Stolz with stainless rods
Only brand of boat he owns and will ever own: Whaler

I am sure the list goes on and on. Favorite Scotch?

I love my 2005 90 saltwater. I cruise at 4200 rpm and it is very quiet. It starts getting louder a couple hundred rpms more that that, but at cruise talking is simple. i don't find it any louder at cruise than my buddy's 115 4 strole Yammie.
